About the Farm

We hope you enjoy your stay with us here at Tanglewood Farm. We thought you would like to know a bit about the farm, the Suite, the Shepherd’s Hut, about us and some of the many attractions of the area.

Tanglewood Farm lies on the outskirts of the Dorset market town of Wareham and is centrally located for anyone wishing to explore the delights of the Isle of Purbeck, including the Purbeck Hills, Heathland and Beaches. The house is set in about 17 acres of pasture and mixed woodland. The farm has been running as a holiday location for many years, and has a Shepherd's Hut as well as a luxurious Guest Suite. Our vision for Tanglewood Farm is to provide friendly accommodation in an idyllic location.

About us

Your hosts are Claire and Paul Davis. We live at Tanglewood farm with our 2 children Lola and Leo and our woof Lexi. Paul works at Wytch Farm for the oil company Perenco and Claire looks after the day-to-day running of Tanglewood Farm. Claire previously worked as an account manager at Celebration Crackers making beautiful handmade bespoke Christmas crackers. On our farm we have a small flock of sheep, chickens and occasionally pigs. We have always enjoyed travelling and love staying in beautiful places. Lovers of food, family time and all things outdoors. We are always on hand to ensure you have an amazing holiday.

About the Accommodation

The Suite

The Suite is a self-contained apartment created from one wing of the large family farmhouse. The Suite includes a lounge and dining area with a fully equipped kitchenette for a Self-Catering Break or Bed and Breakfast. From the lounge, a hall leads to a good sized bathroom and double bedroom. Access to the Suite is via a private external staircase (not suitable for wheelchairs).

The Shepherds Hut

For those who would really like to get back to nature in a woodland setting, we have a Shepherds Hut as a camping alternative for two. Built on the chassis of an old Dray it contains a fold-out bed, a small wood burning stove, cooker and sink. There is a shower and toilet at the side of the farmhouse, not far from the hut.

For our Suite and Shepherd’s Hut guests, we provide a two day breakfast pack for you to cook on the first two days of your stay. The pack contains local produce and includes: bread, butter, bacon, sausages, our own hen's eggs (when available), tomtoes and mushrooms. Please let us know if you have any other requests.
